Natural materials as a trend in lighting projects

If we look at the most current trends in decoration we will notice that both materials and decorative objects evoke a return to the origin through natural materials and finishes. Ceramics, cotton, linen, wood or esparto grass are materials that are repeated over and over again.

This trend of returning to the origin, to the natural, to the artisan and to the essence of a leisurely lifestyle away from stress also permeates the lighting projects. Metal and glass as basic and traditional materials in lamps merge with ceramics, leather or natural textiles, giving a unique look and achieving that effect of calm in the room.

In lighting, and more specifically in our projects, there is an increasing demand for luminaires that are integrated into rustic spaces where the concept of less is more is the protagonist. The finishes of natural materials and colors that simulate a natural environment are gaining prominence.

We see it for example in design lamps such as Delight by Ingo Maurer or Scantling by Marset.

Iconic lamps such as Cesta by Santa&Cole use wood as a natural element. Antoni de Moragas uses a solid wood cylinder that rises to a luminous head composed of three bulbs, sheltered by a substantial circular shade. The white cotton ribbon shade with lateral silk ribbing evokes bookbinding, and its asymmetry produces pleasant chiaroscuros in the light.

If you also want to achieve that natural effect with your project, contact us and we will provide the necessary help with the lighting project, so that nothing is left to chance.

We can see this concept in the RIM HOUSE lighting project for RM Arquitectura and Vero Montijano.
