Lighting in a children's room
In Worldlight, lighting studio located in Mallorca, we are aware of the importance of light in children's rooms. That is why we develop a personalized and very exclusive lighting study for each room.
When we get to the children's room is a challenge for us because in addition to consider the different types and intensities of light, we must find those design lamps, perfect for the little ones at home.
The biggest secret is to achieve an effective lighting, with personality and adapted to the taste of children, but always consistent with the decorative style of the house in question.
Our lighting design team will consider two types of lighting. On the one hand, general and fixed lighting placed on ceiling and wall. On the other hand, the mobile lighting that will give us play to create fun, dynamic and special environments.
As for the general lighting of the children's room, we can consider the option of recessed and adjustable spotlights, LED strips for indirect lighting and decorative pendant lamps, as well as wall sconces. We will always opt for luminaires that bring color, joy and calm. A perfect environment for them and that we can operate depending on their condition or need.
Mobile lighting is the one that will allow us to give volume and dynamism to the room. We will have plug-in lamps but also wireless lamps that the child can carry at will in his space and even outside it, he will always have a light to accompany him!
As an example we have selected five children's lamps or suitable for rooms frequented by the little ones of the house.
Float by Axolight.
From the ingenuity of Axolight and the creativity of designer Mario Alessiani, Float was born, a multifunctional and portable lamp, usable both outdoors and indoors, designed for different uses: table, floor, suspension, wall.
Float is inspired by the shape of children's floats and provides the opportunity to reinterpret that shape into various lamp options using different bases.
Ivy Single by Brokis.
Inspired by nature and its versatility, IVY Single offers almost endless possibilities for unique lighting compositions.
Nature and its life-giving beauty and strength are the inspiration behind the unique lighting concept called IVY. Like a growing plant, IVY can also create a wealth of images. The collection represents an innovative high-tech concept that makes it possible to achieve truly unique lighting compositions.
Hung on special coaxial cables, the lights are easy to install and combine thanks to modular components. Variable and precise in workmanship down to the smallest detail, they come in three sizes in frosted light pink, opal or smoked glass. The distinctive hand-blown glass elements can be arranged in a seemingly endless variety of compositions and rightly take their place among artistic and customized lighting solutions, ideal for public spaces, hotels, offices and many other projects.
Dipping light by Marset.
Beyond its function as a lamp, Dipping Light seeks to excite. When lit, it is fascinating: its different shades of paint sift the light, creating a magical effect in the environment. When switched off, it transforms into a sphere of colored glass, an object with a great aesthetic charge.
The Dipping Light was born as an experiment - dipping a lit light bulb in paint several times - but it becomes a lamp. The various layers of paint draw concentric circles and trap the light, attenuating its intensity. The paint becomes a shade, coloring the light and giving it texture. This handcrafted process makes each lamp unique and exclusive.
In the suspension version, the Dipping Light is stripped to the bare essentials, the color becomes the absolute protagonist. Therefore, when creating a composition with several of them, the visual effect is fascinating. It is available in three different sizes: 12, 20 and 30 cm in diameter. The cluster accessory offers the possibility of connecting several pendant lamps at the same time to a single point of light. With it you have absolute freedom to build with light, to illuminate large spaces or to create compositions.
Space Table by Moooi.
The Space table lamp, designed by Ward Wijnant, is both a mirror and a table lamp. Untouched, the lamp reflects its surroundings, but the mirror will become translucent when the lamp is turned on. The lamp has four different light settings and features an innovative Dim-To-Disco option that will cause the bulbs to change from a warm light to a soft pastel, eventually starting a colorful disco.
Smelly Fant by LZF.
The elephant is the other Funny Farm animal that the firm decided to turn into a light sculpture. Like all elephants, it has big ears, a trunk, even its own legs, and a body over five feet tall.
To turn Isidro Ferrer's vision into a large-scale lamp, LZF has once again called on the expertise of craftsman Manolo Martín.
As he did with Fish, Manolo used the "vareta" technique to shape the three spheres that make up the Elephant's body and head. Its luminous heart, in the center of the sculpture, is diffused through an inner lining of natural wood veneer.
