The Dutch architecture MVRDV protagonist of a unique day in Palma orchestrated by WorldLight Estudio and Delta Light.

Last Friday an extraordinary event took place in Palma for the design and architecture sector, with World Light Estudio and Delta Light being responsible for bringing the Dutch architectural firm MVRDV, with whom the Belgian manufacturer has collaborated in the development of lighting projects, as the protagonist of a day that was divided into two acts.

The first part of the day focused on the presentation of Jacob van Rijs, Founding Partner of MVRDV and Guillermo Reynés, Founding Partner of GRAS Arquitectos about the GOMILA project. The two architects wanted to give their personal and professional vision of the project based on the creation of the city, neighborhood, from architecture and private initiative. A project whose objectives were very clear from the beginning since it was intended to create something unique that would connect with the idiosyncrasy of the neighborhood and that would take into account the client's values.

For this hour-long exhibition, which ended with an informal coffee break where attendees could ask questions to the speakers, the Belgian lighting manufacturer, Delta Light, was in charge of placing a custom order for the luminaires developed in collaboration with the MVRDV studio, High Profile. For this day, the luminaires were painted in the colors of the various GOMILA buildings: yellow, blue and red.

The collaboration of the MVRDV studio and Delta Light in the development of High Profile was one of the central and unifying themes between the two events. It is a bold, colorful, conceptual and sustainable design. The MVRDV design team, led by Jacob Van Rijs, developed a product based on magnetic profiles to symbolize a display product and the less glamorous reality of how it is made and produced. A sustainable approach made from recycled materials.

At 19.00h began the second event of the day with a surprise factor that left no one indifferent: The presentation of the new space of World Light Estudio. The Balearic lighting studio, led by Bernat Blanes, CEO of the company, after months of hard work, made the opening of its showroom coincide with the MVRDV event on the islands. In Bernat's words: "after 10 years of high level lighting projects in the Balearic Islands, we were moving to bigger, more innovative and ambitious facilities. We set out to arrive in time to be able to support the event and give it the space it deserved. We succeeded and we are very happy to have been able to surprise more than 150 professionals from the architecture and interior design sector. We wanted to make them participants of the most innovative design solutions in the lighting market, so that they could enjoy them in a different and very motivating space".

World Light Estudio has been working for years with Delta Light, being its preferred distributor in the islands and, for this reason, the development of this event could not be configured in any other way. In the words of Xavier Ryngaert, Country Director of Delta Light in Spain: "To carry out an event of these characteristics, bringing an internationally known studio, had to be done with the best and no one better than World Light to carry it out. We are very grateful for the work they have done to have the work completed on time for their space, which, besides being incredible, has a great exhibition of Delta Light products."

The event at the World Light Show Room featured presentations by David Martinez Jofre of Minimal Estudio who, with a nod to lighting, spoke about the way his studio approaches lighting in their projects. Delta Light focused on the importance of lighting in interpreting and seeing colors, spaces and shapes, especially in art. Finally, the presentation of Jacob Van Rijs of MVRDV who managed to capture the attention of all those present with a varied presentation of his most cutting-edge and impressive international projects. In addition, he also wanted to explain his collaboration with Delta Light for the creation of the High Profile luminaires.

After all the exhibitions, the party began with ham, canapés, cocktails and good music by a DJ. The end of the day in the World Light space was a success and all the guests praised not only the ability to convene an internationally renowned studio, but the creation of an iconic space in the city of Palma where light is the protagonist of the scene. This new showroom is for Delta Light the perfect setting to present all its new products.
